THE EXPERIMENT NO. Q - Right after the Experiment No.Q review

THE EXPERIMENT NO. Q - Right after the Experiment No.Q

Experimentation is a process of testing. It is an effort to combine things and see how they work. It needs a lot of efforts, but surely the final outcome, if the process is successful, is at least interesting. When we talk about experiments our minds go to science, but experimentation actually takes place in every aspect of our lives including music.

THE EXPERIMENTATION NO. Q is a band that was formed in Italy and it was created having as a purpose to experiment with music. It is a band where musicians from many different musical backgrounds have joined forces and they have decided not to put any boundaries to their sound. They will just experiment with different musical styles and see where this will lead.

“Right after the Experiment No.Q” is the result of this album and believe me it is a work that includes music that we aren’t used to listening to very often. Usually, when someone tries to mix many different musical styles, as this band does here, the result is bad and mostly we listen to different musical parts that don’t fit with each other. In the case of this group, though, things are quite functional and there is a natural transition from one genre to the other.

In this release you will have the chance to listen to an album that incorporates musical elements that come from the 70’s hard rock sound (URIAH HEEP, DEEP PURPLE) and are combined with heavy and even thrash metal elements. There is also a strong dose of symphonic and even gothic metal. All these elements are put in such a way that serve the whole atmosphere and give to the listener a variety of sounds that the more you listen to the more things you will discover.
I think that the band can feel happy because their experimentation was successful and have created an album that has pluralism; it is technical and yet never gets astray from its purpose which is to create music that people can enjoy and make them also feel and think.
